If you have your own GPS and will not be using onX, you can use the download links below to get the GPX files for our routes.
NOTE: We can only offer very limited technical support on these GPX files. If you do not know how to load files to your GPS, please get it figured out before the rally to avoid confusion while at the rally.
on-road
Koocanusa Bridge Loop: A very fun and twisty pavement ride. Don’t let the mileage fool you; it may look short, but this winding route WILL take most of the day. All pavement, but it’s backroads with less maintenance, so you may encounter gravel/dirt in the road.
Katka Face Rd: This all-paved ride will take you around the back side of Black Mountain and Katka Peak. You’ll end up at Boulder Creek, where the road turns to gravel. The ride is very mellow and offers some great views.
Good Grief Loop: A mellow on-road ride through Kaniksu National Forest that follows the Moyie River up to the Good Grief Store. An EXCELLENT place for lunch or dinner.
International Selkirk Loop: This 286-mile loop is one of the routes that inspired us to create 2 The Border. Motorcycling doesn’t get much better than this.
off-road/mixed terrain
Black Mountain Loop: This loop will take you up to the top of Black Mountain and around the backside, back into town. There is a fair amount of pavement, but it’s still an awesome off-road route
Roman Nose Loop: This loop will take you up to Roman Nose Lake using the less-followed route up from the south. This loop is an advanced route from the Idaho BDR and is somewhat technical. It’s worth the work if you’re up for a challenge.
Brush Lake: Technically, you COULD get here a lot faster on the highway….but this route is more fun.
Cooks Lake Loop: This loop will take you up into the mountains to Cooks Lake. The last section of the trail that actually goes up to the lake is quite difficult, so we recommend you walk….but if you’re up for a challenge….send it!
Idaho BDR: 1915 miles. The reason we’re all here….If you can show that you did the Idaho BDR and ended your trip at 2 The Border, we will give you free tickets! This is the most current IDBDR route as of June 2024
Legacy Routes
Revisit some of the awesome routes used at past 2 The Border rallies. These routes are likely still great rides but keep in mind, they may no longer be accessible due to road/trail closures or other reasons. Ask a local before heading out on one of these routes just to be sure.
